BENTS Garden & Home are launching their Eco Explorer treasure hunt and a special visit from a children’s author this half-term.

Eco Explorer, Bents’ new interactive nature trail, will be launched on Monday 24th October and has been designed to help familiarise children with local plants and animals and help them understand nature.

Aimed at children aged 4+, Eco Explorer requires an ipad onto which a free app can be downloaded, which will guide children around Bents’ Open Skies building, setting them challenges on their way.

With three different difficulty settings the app is a great way to nurture and grow children’s knowledge of the living world around us.

Bents will also be holding a Toy Event during half term with special offers on a range of toys from its Children’s Boutique, which is located very close to The Pet Place where a very special story time will be taking place.

On Tuesday 25th and Thursday 27th, author Jessica Parish and two of the stars of the Pugalugs children’s book series, will be at Bents to read extracts from their latest book, Trick or Treat.

Pugalugs and his friend Dug, from the Halloween edition of their adventures will be at Bents to answer any questions and sign copies of the books which will be available to purchase on the day.

Hama Time will also take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with C-Craft experts on hand between 1.30 – 3.30pm to help with Hama Creations on kits purchased from the craft shop.

Face painting will take place throughout the week and Bents’ traditional treasure hunt will also be hidden throughout the Centre for children to win a chocolate treat.
