As part of the Macmillan Cancer Support’s Biggest Coffee Morning, Bents Garden centre will be hosting its annual event at the Fresh Approach Restaurant this Friday (Sept 30)

The event will take place between 8.30am and 12 noon , just one of the many coffee mornings that will be taking place around the country and Bents is keen to raise as much money as possible for the charity which provides much needed care and support for people living with cancer.

There will be lots of entertainment going on throughout the morning with many opportunities to donate money. A silent auction will be held with prizes including an Apollo Gradient Men’s mountain bike, donated by Morton Dairies and a Four Ball at Marriot Worsley Park Golf Club, donated by catering equipment supplier, Alliance.

A charity raffle will take place with lots of opportunities to win, as well as Macmillan cookies specially made for the event and sold for charity. Tickets for a prize draw to win a Kettler Bistro Set are also on sale in the run up to the event, with the winner announced at 11.30am.

Local singer, Katy Sutton-Wilson from Culcheth will provide entertainment between 9am – 10am, and will be followed by Bents’ Nursery Supervisor, Becky Sydenham who will be demonstrating how to plant a beautiful layered container.

Says Matthew Bent, Managing Director at Bents Garden & Home: “According to the Macmillan Cancer Support Website more than one in three people will get cancer. An incredible statistic and one which demonstrates just how important the charity is and why it is vital we help towards their fundraising. It would be fantastic if we could help them beat last year’s total of £25m. We want to encourage as many people as possible to come along to our coffee morning and help make an extra special effort to raise as much money as we can.”
