A SMALL number of roads in Warrington are set to temporarily close on the morning of Sunday October 2 as the LiveWire Mile makes its way through the town.
The mile race, which is part of this year’s Warrington Festival, will start and finish at the Halliwell Jones stadium – home to the Warrington Wolves – for the first time.
Roads around the stadium will be prohibited to traffic for a short time between 10am-12pm as the runners set off and finish from the stadium.
The full list of road closures are: Winwick Street, Tanners Lane, Central Way,     Crown Street, Scotland Road and Horsemarket Street.
The LiveWire mile, which is now in its fourth year, encourages families and individuals to get active while raising money for charity.
Those taking part can run, walk, skip, hop or jump around the route to complete the race and will receive a t-shirt and medal for taking part.
This year, funds raised by participants will be donated to Warrington Disability Partnership, a charity celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The race will begin at 11am and entrants will have the chance to take part in a fun warm up session that gets the blood pumping before taking on the one mile circuit.
For further information or to register for the LiveWire Mile at £6.00 per person, pop into your local LiveWire leisure or library facility or visit http://livewirewarrington.co.uk/livewiremile
