SEVENTEEN teams took part in the annual St. Rocco’s Golf Day at Warrington Golf Club last week.

The sun shone, the course looked great and there was a feeling of friendly competition in the air as the teams readied themselves for a one o’clock shotgun start.

Rybrook Jaguar, sponsors of the event had kindly donated prizes including the loan of the new Jaguar F-Pace for 48 hours for the longest drive and prizes for the top three teams.

Vicky Hewitt from Rybrook said, “We are delighted to be teaming up with St. Rocco’s again for this event and to support them to continue to deliver their care to the local community.”

Rybrook’s James Marcroft was the winner of the longest drive and he kindly donated his prize of the Jaguar F-Pace experience to be auctioned to the highest bidder. This raised an additional £350, bringing the total raised towards hospice care to just under £5,000.

Gold Projects Ltd. was this year’s winning team, followed closely by Harrington Robertson Ltd. in second place and Boulting Group Ltd. were third prize winners.

Rachel Ingham, Community Fundraiser from St. Rocco’s said, “We’re very grateful to Warrington Golf Club and Rybrook Jaguar for supporting this event. It costs just under £4million a year for St. Rocco’s to deliver much needed care to our patients and their families and we’d like to extend our thanks to everyone who has taken part today. Having the support of local businesses and organisation makes a real difference to the help that we can offer.”

Forthcoming events include the 1km Children’s Lantern Walk on Sunday 23rd October and on 10th November St. Rocco’s will be hosting a Ladies Autumn Lunch at Statham Lodge Hotel in Lymm where the guest speaker will be Tracy Martin from ITV’s This Morning and Storage Hoarders.
