LATCHFORD ALBION 52 CHORLEY PANTHERS 16

LATCHFORD passed the 50 point mark for the second week running, and in doing so, moved into a position just one victory from promotion and a return to the North West Premier division.
A strong start at the Victoria Park Arena saw the hosts race into a 16 point lead in the opening 10 minutes, thanks to tries from Craig Woolvine (pictured), Adam Wood and Connor Muir, with Muir converting two attempts.
Chorley did respond with a converted try but scores from Dave Yii and Dave Levenson, with two further conversions from Muir, saw Latchford in control at half time with a scoreline of 28-6.
After the break, Albion again started strongly and following good play from impressive utility Tom Crosby, Muir crossed for his second and straight from the re-start it became a hat trick when he supported a break from debutant Roberto Stratford.
Credit must go to the visitors who never gave up and were rewarded with two tries in quick succession, however further tries from Luke Hickman and Drew Bradley, both converted by Muir who had a personal haul of 28 points, saw Latchford secure a comprehensive victory.
This Saturday Latchford entertain Bamber Bridge where a victory will secure promotion and the club hope to see a healthy crowd to support the players with Kick off at the Victoria Park Arena 2.30pm
