THE number of festival goers arrested on the first day of Creamfields has risen to 13.
It was unlucky for them as they  spent the night in the cells after being arrested on the first day of the dance music festival.
At least eight are understood to have been arrested on suspicion of dealing in drugs.
This year the event at Daresbury is running over four days, with fans starting to arrive yesterday and the event getting under way in the afternoon.
Local roads have been packed with traffic arriving from all over the country.
A major police operation is underway, controlling traffic and also on the festival site itself.
There was heavy rain yesterday, but with forecasts of fine weather today it is hoped the site will not become the quagmire it was three years ago when the event had to be cut short on public safety grounds.
