POLICE made eight drug related arrests within the first few hours of day one of the Creamfields music festival at Daresbury.

Six people were arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply and two others were arrested for possessing a Class A Drug.

Cheshire Police are enforcing a “zero tolerance” policy on drugs, with surrender points available at the entrances to the site, for anyone possessing drugs to give them up before entering.

Anyone found in possession will be arrested.

This is the first year the festival has run four four days over the Bank Holiday weekend.

It got off to a wet start today with heavy traffic causing congestion in and around the Daresbury area.
