OLYMPIC bronze medal-winning gymnast Sam Oldham is set to open Warrington Gymnastics Club’s new pitted gym facility at 2.30pm on Saturday August 20.

Oldham was part of the Great Britain men’s team that won bronze in the team competition at the 2012 Olympics in London.

Emma Ahmed, Chairman of Warrington Gymnastics Club, said: “The investment in the gymnastic pits marks an essential part of the club’s drive for increased performance.

“Access to gymnastic pits is an essential part of a gymnasts development, particularly those with aspirations to mirror the success of their 2016 Olympic gymnastics heroes. They allow a safe environment for the development of new or bigger skills and reduce the risk of injury.

“The club has a fantastic coaching team including double Olympian Hannah Whelan (a Commonwealth Gold medallist and multiple British Champion in women’s artistic gymnastics) and former World Tumbling Champion Rachael Letsche.”

Warrington Gymnastics Club is based on Wharf Street, behind Riverside Retail Park.
