Viola Beach memorial fund nears £20k

A memorial fund in memory of Warrington’s chart topping band Viola Beach, who were all tragically killed in a car crash in Sweden earlier this year, is nearing £20,000 in donations.

Warrington council is hosting a memorial fund account for the victims of the tragedy. and the money raised will be used by the families to commission a memorial for the four band members and their manager who tragically died in the accident.

Vocalist Kris Leonard, guitarist River Reeves, bassist Tomas Lowe, drummer Jack Dakin and their manager Craig Tarry all died when their car crashed off a bridge into a canal in Stockholm, Sweden, during the early hours of February 13 this year.

So far £19,842 has been made in donations.

Donations can be made until September 30.
