Top award for Warrington charity worker

A Warrington charity worker has been recognised for his commitment to continuing adult education.
Jon Boardman, of health and social care charity Making Space, was highly commended in the Adult Learners’ Week Awards.
The human resources advisor is responsible for the learning needs of the charity’s 900-plus national employees, who work across a number of adult care settings, including respite services,residential care and carer support services.
Jon received the award for his outstanding contribution to the charity’s learning and development programme after the introduction of the Care Certificate, a new set of minimum training standards for care staff.
Rachel Peacock, director of development, Making Space, said: “I nominated Jon because he does not recognise any obstacles to what he hopes to achieve.
“He uses every potential setback or difficulty as an opportunity to develop a solution.
“Jon’s clear commitment to learning and development has created an air of ambition among his colleagues. As someone relatively new to the care sector and coming from a corporate background, Jon has embraced every aspect of the services we provide and uses a desire to have a positive end result for our service users to drive everything he does.”
John said: “I’m aware that every single person within Making Space is delivering a service that can change people’s lives for the better. I take their learning very seriously”.
