Travellers ignore notice to quit Hardwick Grange

1

TRAVELLERS who set up camp at Woolston’s Hardwick Grange after vacating Victoria Park – have ignored another council notice to vacate the site by lunch time today (Wednesday).

The council has now sent all papers to the Legal team to obtain a S78 Notice for a court hearing.

Six caravans and associated vehicles arrived at Hardwick Grange after vacating Victoria Park last week – where they also ignored a council notice to quit the site.

They are one of four traveller groups to have been operating in the Warrington area.

  1. I’m sorry an I must be starting to sound like a stuck record now buy for goodness sake this is getting ridiculous.
How can they just continue to do this and get away with it !!

They are playing the council for absolute fools and they [travellers] know how the system works and that they [council/police] can’t do a bloody thing without ticking all the right boxes and following procedure.

Surely it’s time now that WBC looked into what other councils have managed to do and got a blanket ban on them entering and setting root in the borough.

Enough is enough and if the council think these sorts who ignore notices to leave and stick 2 finders up to authority will actually pay to stay on the proposed new £2 million transit site at almost £90 a week then they are deluded !

Seems I was right when I said the Wilderspool ones who refused to leave and stayed for 10 days may have started a precedent. Rant over…..
