Mayor launches achievement awards

MAYOR of Warrington Faisal Rashid has launched the first Mayoral Achievement Awards and is asking people to nominate a worthy winner.
Cllr Rashid is calling on Warrington residents to nominate deserving citizens for an award.
The awards will run throughout the year. The first categories are being launched this month and citizens can be nominated in three categories, with an award to recognise a wonderful volunteer, to
recognise a young entrepreneur (under 25) and to recognise a community champion, for people who are passionate about where they live and who work hard and inspire others.
Cllr Rashid said: “There are so many people in Warrington who are unsung heroes and this is my way of making sure we recognise their work. This is just the start – we will have more awards over the course of my mayoral year to celebrate the people of Warrington.”
Nominations close on August 31. The winners will be presented with their award at a ceremony at the Town Hall on Tuesday, September 27.
Anyone who would like to nominate for this award then please follow the link warrington.gov.uk/mayor.
