MOTORISTS are being advised to avoid the Delph Lane area of Winwick following a two vehicle collision at rush hour.

The collision took place on the junction of Delph Lane and Mill Lane – causing traffic to build up as both vehicles required recovery and debris had to be removed.

Police advised motorists to avoid the area if at all possible.

The accident compounded other traffic issues across the town, including delays caused by the resurfacing of Station Road, Latchford and the closure of the Cantilever Bridge during road works.
