IT’S a new name in Warrington – but the Gemini Musical Theatre Company has been entertaining local audiences for almost 50 years.
Previously known as Warrington Light Opera Company, the group has changed its name to widen its appeal with current musical theatre audiences and performers – and has just had a highly successful three day run with its latest production, “Musical Magic.”
But at the same time, its very popular Gilbert and Sullivan productions and annual Christmas concert will remain important features of its annual programme.
New members are being actively recruited for future productions. Membership is open to all ages and all voices from 16 upwards .
A spokesperson said: “Singing with Gemini is a great way to meet people, make new friends and get involved in a whole range of social and fundraising activities.
“Non-singers are also very welcome to join and develop their talents helping with front of house, backstage and other activities such as marketing and publicity.”
Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays at 7.30pm at Hood Manor Community Centre, Dorchester Road, Great Sankey where new members will be welcome.
In addition, the company has a workshop entitled “Pirates from Scratch” at the Old School, Fairfield Street, Warrington, on Sunday September 18.This will start at 2pm, followed by a performance open to the public from 7.30pm.
