A Warrington charity is bidding to break the world record for the biggest ever tombola.

Warrington Disability Partnership, who fund-raise regularly around the town at various events with their popular tombola, will bid to break the world record at Golden Square on Saturday October 1.

Now they are appealing to local people and businesses to help them break the record by donating prizes.

Chief Executive Dave Thompson, who regularly helps out at the fund-raising tombolas, said: “Our aim is to smash the current world record by getting over 6,000 prizes.”

Now Dave is urging local people and business to get behind the record attempt by donating prizes.

To qualify for the record there can only by up to 25 of the same item and all items must be new.

Prizes can be dropped off at any of the charity’s centres, including the shop in Godeln Square, Shopmobility in the Golden Square car park, the Independent Living Centre on Beafort Street or at the stall on Warrington Market. Items can also be donated at Tesco Extra on Winwick Road.

Every business which donates will get a thank you message on the charity’s website.
