POLICE at Warrington today issued a warning following reports from members of the public who have received phone calls from someone purporting to be from B’s technical department.
The caller informs people their internet service is to be taken down because of a fault and asking them to log on to a web site to be guided through a procedure.
A police spokesman said: “We believe this to be a scam. Never give personal details out over the phone unless you are completely sure who you are talking to.”
Some Warrington residents have received similar calls from someone claiming to be from Talk Talk.
