A DRIVER has been arrested following a road crash at Birchwood in which a 31-year-old motor cyclist was killed.
The crash occurred on Woolston Grange Avenue shortly after 5.30pm yesterday and involved a white Ford Focus and a motorcycle.
A 30-year-old man from Leigh was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The victim’s family have been informed of the tragedy but his identity has yet to be revealed as he has not been formally identified.
It is understood he died at the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses of the crash.
