As exclusively revealed by warrington-worldwide last month, Wolves’ winger Gene Ormsby is joining Huddersfield Giants for the remainder of the season, after agreeing a permanent deal from next year.

Having previously had a loan period with the Giants earlier this season, Ormsby has struggled to gain a regular first team place behind Matty Russell and Kevin Penny in the pecking order.

Huddersfield Giants have announced today that they have secured the registration of  Ormsby from the Wolves for the remainder of the 2016 season.

The 23 year old had already agreed to join the Giants in 2017 but the move was brought forward after talks between the two clubs.

Giants Managing Director Richard Thewlis commented: “Rick Stone was aware whilst down under awaiting his visa of all squad issues from the moment he accepted the position of Head Coach here and he was delighted to be told upon his arrival at Manchester yesterday that he would be joined at training by Gene.

“The move for next year and beyond had been agreed some months back and we thank the Warrington club for allowing it to be brought forward and therefore strengthen the options Rick has in the outside backs.”

Gene Ormsby added: “It’s exciting to be back, I really enjoyed my time here when I was on loan so it is great to be back here with the boys. The opportunity presented itself to come here and I wanted to get game time so it is good for my career to be here and the chance to work for Rick Stone is something I am looking forward to. He has got some good structures in place and I think my career will develop under him.”

He is believed to have a greed a three year deal with the Giants.
