Moving tribute to Viola Beach at Glastonbury

WARRINGTON band Viola Beach took centre stage at Glastonbury last night thanks to Coldplay, who paid tribute to the boys and their manager who tragically lost their lives earlier this year.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin challenged people to get out and buy the Viola Beach single ‘boys that sing’ to “to take it up the charts.”

In a moving tribute to the band members and their manager Coldplay then performed the band’s new single with images of Viola Beach performing on the big screens.

Band members Tomas Lowe, Kris Leonard, River Reeves and Jack Dakin died along with manager Craig Tarry during the early hours of Saturday February 13, shortly after appearing at a music festival in Stockholm – their first gig abroad.

They were being mentored by Warrington pop promoter Simon Moran and were tipped for the top when their lives were tragically cut short.

Their posthumous debut self-titled album will be released on July 29 via the band’s own label Fuller Beans Records.
