WARRINGTON Town have bid a fond farewell to their longest serving player Chris Gahgan who has opted to join Colwyn Bay.

The Orford based winger who has played more than 250 games for Warrington, scoring 88 goals, will team up with former Town manager Paul Moore, who has taken charge at Colwyn Bay, with another former Town player, Phil Hadland, as his assistant.

Warrington Chairman Toby Macormac said: ” We would like to say a huge thank you to Chris Gahgan for all his hard work and commitment for the club and wish him all the best as he moves to Colwyn Bay as a senior player.”

Colwyn Bay and Warrington Town have swapped divisions, with Town promoted to the Evo-Stik Premier, while the Seagulls were relegated to the Evo-Stik Division One North.

The two clubs last met during Warrington’s historic FA Cup run, when a last gasp equaliser by Gahgan earned Town a replay which they went on to win.

Meanwhile Warrington have confirmed another pre-season friendly, which will be a local derby against Widnes FC from the North West Counties 1st Division, who play at the Select Security Stadium, the home of Widnes Vikings RLFC. The match will take place on Tuesday July 26.
