Collegiate set to open doors for future students

WARRINGTON’S leading provider of vocational education and apprenticeships will be opening its doors to future students next Monday (June 6).

Warrington Collegiate currently offers a selection of courses which will be showcased at the Opening Evening and Skills show,  ranging from Accounting and Aviation Operations to Performing Arts and Plumbing.
Visitors will be able to get first had experience of the college with demonstrations from the different curriculum areas. These demonstrations will include pipe bending and joining, pressure testing and the maintenance of valves and equipment from the plumbing department.

Find yourself feeling like more of a performer? Then feel free to pop along on the night as the Performing Arts department will be doing various dance performances on the evening.

Brickwork will be putting on demonstrations; current students will be demonstrating the skills that they have gained while at the college, during this demonstration there will also be the opportunity for visitors to have an attempt at brick work themselves in a practice area.

For those whose interests include Top Gear and a monthly Car Magazine subscription; the motor vehicle department will be putting on demonstrations of the various activities involved in their courses, including engine stripping and rebuilding, engine diagnostics and puncture repairs.

If you’d prefer to be away from the oil and grime; then feel free to visit hair and beauty who will be offering various treatments to visitors. The Media Make-up department will also be doing demonstrations of the different skills that they have acquired while studying the subject.

Have you always wondered what it would be like to be in an episode of CSI? The Public Services and Forensics departments will be collaborating on the evening to put on crime scene demonstrations, meaning that you no longer have to wonder.

None of these taking your fancy? Is sports more your thing? Then you’ll be pleased to know that the sports department will be putting on football and rugby demonstrations throughout the evening as well as offering football and rugby challenges to the people that come along on the evening.

Do you find yourself wanting to get back into education but you don’t know about the different courses available? Warrington Collegiate offer a range of Higher Education courses including Accounting, Counselling, Engineering, Sports Exercise Science and Marketing. The Higher Education team will be available on the evening to answer any questions about courses and fees.

The college’s apprenticeship team will also be available to offer advice and guidance about the increasingly large number of apprenticeships available at the college each year.
