THE village green at Hollins Green will be transformed on Saturday, June 25 when the annual Rixton-with-Glazebrook Carnival takes place.
Open from 11am to 4pm, the free event will offer a fun day out for all the family with attractions for all ages.
Music will be provided by Cadishead Band and Anvil Street Drummers along with a variety of dance from Dance Rhythm, Warrington Wolves Fusion and Cotton Town Hot Club.
Elsewhere on the Green there will be willowcraft workshops, laser shooting, a Wipe Out inflatable challenge and rugby skills training with Warrington Wolves.
For the young ones there will be an inflatable assault course, a teacups ride and some unusual species of animals.
Children’s entertainer Amazing Stephen will be showing off his magic skills in the main marquee.
A varied display of vehicles and machinery including tractors, caravans, cars, motorbikes, stationary engines and lawnmowers will be on show.
Lots of local groups are also getting involved and they’ll be setting up stalls to entertain and inform.  Local businesses will have their products for sale so there’s chance to grab a bargain.
A tea and cake tent, a beer tent hosted by the Red Lion, a barbecue, an Indonesian food stall run by Dapoer Chinta and a sweet and pop stall run by a local group will provide refreshments.
There will be two competitions to enter, in three age groups, Children, Teenagers and Adults.  One competition is for the most attractively decorated cake with a sporting theme and the other for the best sporting photo.
A Silly Dog Show run by Rixton Dog School will have “Waggiest tail” and “Dog the judge would most like to take home” categories.
Some favourite children’s characters will meet and greet and pose for photos and listen to the music provided by Radio Wishing Well throughout the day.
