Woodland magic at the Lymm Festival Trail races

THE organisers of Lymm Festival Trail Races are promising a day of family fun, woodland magic, medals and prizes on the morning of Sunday 3rd July.

This lively annual event, now in its fifth year, takes place on the playing fields at Lymm High School and offers races to suit all the family.

The first race is a Fun Run for children and is a mile (1.6k) long pursuit of the real Gingerbread Man who is making a rare celebrity appearance. Will anyone be able to catch him this year?

The course goes the whole way around the school playing fields, so there will be plenty of space to cheer on all the runners!

This year’s Fun Runners and their adult helpers are being encouraged to dress up as woodland animals.

The best-dressed boy and girl will receive a prize.

All young runners will receive a specially designed medal and a small treat at the end of the race.

All profits for this race will go to the Woodland Trust.

Following the Fun Run, the 5k and 10k races continue the woodland theme by taking runners on a circuit of Helsdale and Spud Woods.

There is no Fancy Dress competition as part of these races but there will be medals and goody bags for all competitors and prizes for Senior and Junior winners.

For more information and to enter a race, go to http://lymmrunners.org.uk/trailraces/
and click ENTER.

But ‘click, click as fast as you can’ because all those who enter before midnight on 6th June have a chance to win back the cost of either the 5k or 10k race in our Early Bird raffle.
