WARRINGTON Collegiate’s Public Services department has been presented with a prestigious award in recognition of their partnership with the Royal Air Force.

Flight Lieutenant Ed Stephens visited the College on Tuesday to present the Platinum Partnership Award to staff and students.

The award recognises the past and present relationship between the RAF and the College in terms of promoting opportunities to students and maintaining links with past students who have gone on to have careers in the RAF.

Warrington Collegiate is one of only 50 schools and colleges in the North West to have received the award.

Flt Lt Ed Stephens, who has had more than 14 years’ service with the RAF, said: “Over the last five years we have had 31 applications to join the RAF made by students from Warrington Collegiate.

“The Platinum Partnership means the College and its students will get more time with the RAF and we will be doing many more engagement activities with us.”

The plaque was presented to Principal Nichola Newton and Head of Faculty Andy Williams.

Nichola said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this prestigious award from the RAF. We really value the partnership the College has with the RAF and this award cements our relationship further.”
