Rain fails to dampen spirits at Walk in the Park

CHARITY supporters braved the elements to turn out in force to support Warrington Disability’s “Walk in the Park” fund-raiser earlier today.

Particpants ran, walked and strolled 5k through Sankey Valley Park to raise funds for Warrington Disability Partnership during their 25th anniversary year and other charities of their choice.

The circuit through Sankey Valley Park started and finished at the charity’s Beaufort Street HQ, where Deputy Mayor Faisal Rashid was on hand to present medals and certificates.

The £5 registration went to to WDP, who are bidding to raise £150,000 to employ young disabled people as part of a legacy project

Following the run and walk activities and games took place at Beaufort Street.
