Foster care information day at IKEA

COMMUNITY Foster Care is holding an information session about fostering at IKEA on the Gemini Retail Park in Warrington on May 7 and 8 from 10am to 3pm.

Anyone interested in fostering is welcome to chat to experts from the not-for-profit agency, based in Lancashire.

“IKEA is full of families and that’s what we are all about,” said Emma Weaver, Registered Manager for Community Foster Care.  “We want to talk to people who may be thinking of fostering but don’t know where to start.

“Becoming a foster carer is rewarding and life-changing.  Many people think they can’t foster, but the opposite is often true. There’s lots of help and training to get you started and constant support along the way.

“Children are in care through no fault of their own. All they want is a safe place to call home and people who will try to understand them.  Please come and talk to us and we’ll be happy to answer your questions.”

Foster carers come from all walks of life and can be male or female, single, married or divorced. They must be over 25 and in generally good health.

Community Foster Care is a family-focused,  independent agency which provides foster carers for children in and around Warrington, as well as Lancashire and Cumbria.
