Cyber sex monster preyed on girls in Warrington

YOUNG girls in Warrington are said to have been among the many victims of a “cyber sex monster” from America who preyed on vulnerable youngsters around the world.

Up to 10 youngsters in Warrington are believed to have been victims of Blake Robert Johnstone, aged 42, from Martinez, California, who is starting a 30 year jail sentence for his crimes which included grooming young girls over the internet encouraging them to to commit harmful and violent acts such as cutting themselves, penetrating their bodies with foreign objects, strangulation, and drug abuse.

In America he traveled across States to meet his young victims and engage in underage sex. When he wasn’t on his travels he was online grooming vulnerable young girls across the world, including the UK.

One concerned Warrington parent, whose own daughter was an online victim, contacted warrington-worldwide to help raise awareness and to warn about the dangers of allowing youngsters to go online unsupervised.

The parent, who wishes to remain anonymous said: “Parents need to open their eyes to what might be going on over the internet as their teenagers are glued to their phones and social media 24/7!

“The past year has been hell and we wouldn’t want any other family to have to go through what we have experienced.”

Warrington based Adrian Derbyshire, who tragically lost his teenage daughter Julia last year, after she suffered from online bullying and abuse, said: “With high increases of cyber “trolls” and “Predators” online we need to do much more such as raising awareness to children and their parents to discuss Internet safety.

“My campaign and Julia’s campaign targets such issues and raises vital education. The Julia Derbyshire Campaign will be providing workshops for parents, teachers and young people and will target the main issues & pressures young people face today online.

“Content online is a multi billion pound industry and until government at a local and national level start spending the money needed to educate, filter & to protect our children more crimes and deaths such as my own daughter Julia will continue.”

Adrian has launched #SASSY (Support Against Self-Harm & Suicide in Youth) in memory of his daughter.
