PLANS have been submitted for a second manufacturing company on Warrington’s Omega South development site.
A deal is pending, subject to planning consent, between Omega Warrington Ltd (OWL) and Domino’s Pizza Development Ltd.
The 117,000 square feet scheme would include space for production, storage and distribution, a two-storey office , parking and a substation.
The application, covering a 2.24 hectares site, is directly to the east of the new ASDA unit and will also include a small access road leading off Skyline Drive, and landscaping works.
Andrew Sutherland, joint MD of Miller Developments, a partner in OWL, said: “Pending a positive planning determination and the completion of legal agreements, we look forward to welcoming another big brand to Omega South.
“We are particularly encouraged by the imminent Domino’s Pizza deal as this will mark the second manufacturer on Omega South, following car parts production firm, Plastic Omnium. This is a very positive story for Warrington’s manufacturing industry.”
Michael Botha, commercial director at Domino’s Pizza Group, said: “This state of the art facility will balance our supply chain infrastructure nationally and enhance our business resilience. In addition, it will support our planned growth in the region and bring our fresh, handmade pizzas to even more people.
“Subject to planning, Domino’s Pizza Group is investing circa £30 million in the new facility, which will service 450 Domino’s stores across the North and provide jobs to over 120 people in the local area.”
A decision on the planning application is expected over the next couple of months.
