Lineham hat-trick in Wolves victory

WARRINGTON Wolves made it two from two at the start of the Super League season with a 38-8 win over Hull KR with winger Tom Lineham scoring a hat-trick.

After a generally low-key first half when Warrington were in first gear for much of the half, Lineham scored a second half hat-trick on his home debut, with fellow arrival from Hull, Joe Westerman also getting on the scoresheet.

Two of Lineham’s efforts were top draw diving in at the corner.

The Wolves should have been home and dry in a scrappy first half, but only held a relatively slender 12-0 lead thanks to tries from Ben Currie and Westerman.

But they cut loose in the second half with Lineham’s treble and a fine effort from Daryl Clark securing back-to-back victories after last week’s opening victory at Leeds, who suffered a second successive defeat going down at Widnes.
