A WINTER wonderland awaits visitors to Warrington’s Walton Hall and Gardens, which are to be transformed into a magical, festive fantasy land with fun for all the family in the run-up to Christmas
On Friday December 11 at 6pm, Father Christmas will be launching the winter wonderland by switching on the Christmas lights, before taking up his weekend residence at Walton Hall.
Residents are welcome to join the festive fun between 6-9pm.
Winter Wonderland will be open, between 10.30am – 4pm on December 12, 13, 19 and 20.
Visitors will experience the magic of Christmas past and as well as meeting Father Christmas in Walton’s heritage yard.
The yard and stables will be transformed into a snowy spectacular, complete with grotto, a polar express ride, a children’s entertainer, live music and traditional hot food and refreshments.
There will also be some festive-themed activities to get involved in, including painting pottery decorations and decorating a yule log.
Tickets for entry to Santa’s grotto are £6 per child, which includes a gift. Adults and older children are welcome to accompany younger children into Santa’s grotto, free of charge.
Tickets are available to purchase on the day.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the borough council’s lead member for leisure, community and culture, said: “Walton Hall and Gardens is one of the many jewels in Warrington’s crown  and provides a delightful setting to celebrate Christmas.
“Our Winter Wonderland is the perfect occasion to get in the festive spirit and a magical event to bring children along to. The arrival of Father Christmas always makes the event extra special – so make sure
you’re on the nice list!”
