Lucky escape for motorist as tree crushes car

HIGH winds across Warrington over the weekend resulted in at least six trees being toppled – including one which crushed a car parked at the Paddington House Hotel.

Cheshire Fire Service were called to the hotel and reported that no one had been injured after the huge tree fell, crushing a parked car.

Warrington Police reported a total of six incidents on Folly Lane, Warrington, Glazebrook Lane, Glazebrook, Manchester Road, Warrington, Cherry lane, Lymm, Myddleton lane, Winwick and Glover Road, Birchwood.

  1. Good grief that’s one shocker of a picture !! Thank god nobody was in or near the cars at the time and very lucky it didn’t fall the other way and crush the house too.
    It’s about time some of the trees around there were lopped though as they are far to big to be that close to buildings and homes.
