HONORARY Alderman Keith Bland – former leader of the Conservative group on Warrington Borough Council and a long-serving member of Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council, has been made a Fellow of Warrington Collegiate.
The honour acknowledges his long service as a governor of the college – he is currently vice chairman, chairman of the search and governance committee and a member of the audit committee.
Cllr Bland (pictured above), who received the MBE for services to local government and was made an honorary alderman for his service to the borough council, received his award at the higher education award ceremony at St Elphin’s Church, Warrington.
He said: “I was delighted and honoured to receive the award.
“It was wonderful to see so many young and mature students, supported by their families  completely filling the church and making it an evening of celebration.
