Hill and Cooper taste England success over Kiwis

WARRINGTON forward Chris Hill and former player, Warrington born Mike Cooper, celebrated as England recorded a 20-14 victory over New Zealand in a gripping third international at Wigan
for a 2-1 Test series win.

England Forward Elliot Whitehead scored two tries and skipper Sean O’Loughlin powered over eight minutes from time to put England 20-6 ahead against the world’s top-ranked side.

The Kiwis fought back in the closing stages as Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Jordan Kahu grabbedtries to set up a tense finale but England managed to hang on to grab their first series win over
since 2007.

England led 8-6 atg the break, winger Jason Nightingale crossing for the Kiwis after Whitehead had helped the hosts into an early 8-0 lead.

England won the first test 26-12 with New Zealand taking the second 9-2 to level the series.
