MEMBERS of the South Warrington Marie Curie fundraising group celebrated reaching a special milestone – raising £32,000 – at their third annual charity lunch in Lymm.
The lunch itself was a great success and raised £578 for the charity.
Community fundraiser Holly Fraser paid tribute to the volunteers who had raised the money – and appealed for more people to join the group.
She said: “We are looking for individuals who are organised with great communication skills to join our fantastic fundraising group covering the Warrington area.
“The fundraising group raise money to support the free Marie Curie support line and online forum which aims to support and advise anyone affected by a terminal illness, so if you think you’ve got a couple of hours a month that you’d be able to give to a worthwhile cause please get in touch.”
The charity is particularly looking for a someone to lead the the group in all activities, helping to plan and organise a calendar of
fundraising events.
They will encourage support for Marie Curie, forming and maintaining relationships with local supporters and chair group meetings and
also recruit and welcome new members to the group when required.
All money raised by the group is used to fund the free Marie Curie Support Line 0800 090 2309 and online forum community.mariecurie.org.uk which aims to support and advise anyone affected by a terminal illness.
Anyone who would like to get involved should contact Holly Fraser on 0161 255 2800 or email [email protected]
