Days gone by in Dallam

RESIDENTS of the Dallam area of Warrington took a trip down memory lane when they attended “Dallam Days Gone By”
Organised by local volunteers and the borough council’s central neighbourhood team, the aims of the event were to bring the community together.
Visitors shared stories from the old days of playing hop scotch, bowls, hula hoop and more while community groups provided stalls, face painting and refreshments.
Activities by LiveWire and Change4 Life kept everyone busy and inspired to be more active.
Free health checks were carried out for adults by staff from a local pharmacist.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the borough council’s lead member for leisure, community and culture, said: “Although the weather was not on our side the event was attended by about 80 people and the volunteers had a fun afternoon reminiscing.
“I want to thank everyone who helped make this event such a success.”
Cllr Pat Wright, lead member for statutory health and adult social care said: “Events in the community are just one of the ways we can provide people direct with practical advice and support that could have a positive impact on their everyday lives including how to eat more healthy food, care services that could help them or a family member, sports activities and lots more.”
