New scout group planned for Chapelford

A NEW scout group is planned in the growing Chapelford area of Warrington.
Cheshire Scouts are looking to open the group at Chapelford Village Primary School, Santa Rosa Boulevard, Great Sankey.
Three taster sessions will run on September 16, 23 and 30 from 6pm – 7.30pm.
All boys and girls aged 6-11 and parents and adults interested in volunteering are invited to attend to try out Scouting for themselves and get a real idea of what it’s like to be part of the Beavers, Cubs or Scouts.
The sessions are free of charge with no obligation and no need to book.
Assuming that enough adults come forward to offer their support, the new group could open as soon as next month.
But Cheshire Scouts are first looking to establish a team of adult volunteers. No experience is required to become a volunteer – just bags of enthusiasm.
With flexible volunteering there is a verity of ways to get involved as an adult and with ongoing training and mentoring available, new volunteers will feel well supported in their role.
Anyone interested in finding out more about Scouting should drop in to one of the taster sessions, or contact Alice Smith, [email protected] telephone 07837 111 020.
