Street dance girls on top of the world

FOUR Warrington girls have claimed top spots in the World Street Dance championships held in Glasgow.
Amina Houda aged 14, Izzy Webster aged 13, Fay Barnett aged 12 and Melissa Hales aged 12 are all from Appleton – and all attend AT School of Dance in Stockton Heath.
They entered the street dance qualifiers over the last year with the AT Dance street elite team and their teacher Heidi Reading,  who was once herself a world champion.
Amina and Izzy were placed fifth in the world in the under-16 duo category and Fay and Melissa were placed fourth in the under 14 category. All the girls competed against hundreds of street dancers from more 30 different countries.
Amina and Izzy competed last year when they placed seventh in the under 14 duos so were thrilled to improve on that this year.
Dance school principal Karen Speers said: “I am absolutely thrilled for all the AT Dance street elite team who got through to the finals and so proud of Izzy, Amina, Fay and Melissa who achieved so much.
“Heidi is one fabulous street coach and has worked the pupils so hard and it’s been worth it!”
