Dog rescued from Mersey at Warrington

FIREFIGHTERS from Warrington, Stockton Heath and Knutsford were involved in an operation to rescue a dog from the River Mersey.
The incident was at Paddington, Warrington, where a dog was reported in difficulties in the river.
A boat from Warrington Fire Station, the animal rescue unit from Knutsford and a fire engine from Stockton Heath were sent to the scene.
Firefighters using the boat eventually rescued the frightened animal.
Later, two fire engines from Warrington were sent to St Peters Way, Warrington after fire broke out in a bedroom.
The blaze was extinguished and crews then use a ventilation unit to clear smoke from the house.
