Culcheth Post Office to get facelift

COUNCILLORS and local MP Helen Jones have welcomed the news that Culcheth’s Post Office is to be modernised.

The Jackson Avenue branch will be changed to one of the “main” style branches in October, as part of a major programme of modernisation taking place across the Post Office network.

The aim is to create a more modern and convenient retail experience for customers that will include longer opening hours.

Helen Jones MP said: “This is great news for people in Culcheth. In areas where the new look branches are already operating, customers have been pleased with the services offered, particularly the longer opening hours.

“People can choose to visit at times to suit their lifestyle and by spreading customer visits throughout the day waiting times are reduced. I am sure this will be the case at the new look Culcheth Post Office.”

Village councillors Chris Vobe and Matt Smith also added their support to the news.

Cllr Vobe said: “The newly refurbished Post Office will provide a modern, open-plan environment for customers, as well as longer opening hours, whilst retaining the same products and services.

“It will help to secure the future of our local branch, and keep the Post Office at the heart of the village’s trading centre.”

It will close for refurbishment on Tuesday September 29, before the new-look Post Office re-opens on Friday October 16 (1pm).
