Business as usual after raiders ransack football club

IT will be business as usual at Warrington Town Football Club despite the club’s buildings being ransacked by raiders during the early hours of today (Monday).

Police are investigating the raid which targeted the recently refurbished social club and the football club offices situated on Loushers Lane, Latchford.

The raiders smashed open gaming machines and a juke box in the social club, getting away with a small amount of cash and some spirits, before forcing open four doors to gain entry to the football club offices, which were then ransacked.

Club Chairman Toby Macormac said: “There has been a lot of damage caused but it will be business as usual.

“There is very little of value left on the premises but it is very upsetting to see the devastation after all the hard work which has gone into improving the facilities in recent weeks.”

“It is one of a number of break-ins reported in the area recently so I would urge everyone in the area to be extra vigilant.”
