Unused site will become private gardens

PLANNERS at Warrington  have given the green light to a proposal to convert an area of unused land into private gardens at Culcheth.
The land – owned by the borough council – lies to the rear of houses in Wellfield Road and to the side of one house in Heswall Avenue.
It will become additional garden areas for two houses in Wellfield Road and the property in Heswall Avenue.
Planning officers said the change of use of the land would not cause any unacceptable harm to the character and appearance of the area, or residential amenity.
Views of the site are limited from public vantage points, with the exception of some existing vegetation.  Even though boundary fences, up to 2m high, could be erected, and the land would benefit from permitted development rights for the construction of outbuildings, the change of use would not have a detrimental impact on the appearance of the area.
