TRAFFIC hold-ups can be expected from Monday when improvement works start on Holcroft Lane, Culcheth.
The repair and resurfacing works are expected to last about six weeks and will take place between 9.15am and 3.15pm, Monday to Friday. There may also be some weekend working.
Holcroft Lane will be affected from the A574 Warrington Road, Culcheth to Glazebrook Lane, about 500 metres south of M62.
For the first two weeks Holcroft Lane will be open to traffic but there will be temporary traffic lights to control traffic flow.
From August 10, Holcroft Lane will be closed to traffic between Warrington Road, Culcheth, and Woolden Road, Glazebrook, for four weeks during working hours.
All roads will be open outside working hours.
Access for residents and businesses along the closed sections of road will be under the control of the contractor.
A proposed diversion route will be via the A574 Warrington Road, Culcheth and Risley, Birchwood Park Avenue, Birchwood Way, the B5210 Woolston Grange Avenue, the A57 Manchester Road and the B5212 Glazebrook
Lane.
Bus services will be affected. The Rural Rider 192 service will be diverted but school buses will run as normal.
A spokesperson for Warrington  Borough Council said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused while the improvement works are carried out.”
