Motor bike thug attacks 75-year-old grandmother

MEMBERS of the public put a thug to flight when he attacked a 75-year-old woman in her car at Warrington.
The incident was in Warrington Road, Culcheth at 3pm yesterday (Wednesday) as the woman was waiting in a line of stationary traffic near to the Spice Lounge and BP garage.
She was accompanied by her grandchildren.
A motorcyclist who had been travelling in front of her approached her car, was verbally aggressive and grabbed hold of her arm, applying pressure and causing her pain.
Passersby saw what was happening, shouted at the motor cycling who got back on his machine and sped off in the direction of Common Lane.
At the time of the incident the motorcyclist was wearing all black riding clothing. His bike was described as a black sports type motorcycle with no tread on its tyres.
PC Paul Scott from Warrington Police said: “Thankfully, there were a large number of people in the area at the time of the incident as children were just finishing school.
“However, as a result of this incident the victim was left extremely shaken and I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and believes they may be able to assist with our enquiries.”

In another incident, police are appealing for information following a distraction burglary at an address in Dunnock Grove, Birchwood.
The incident occurred around 2.30pm on Monday July 13.
An offender went to the house and asked to use the toilet. Then he asked for a drink, due to being diabetic and later used the toilet again before leaving. After he had left, the occupant found money had been stolen.
The offender was slim, aged 19-25 and about 5ft 4 inches tall with medium length light coloured hair, possibly wearing pale blue jeans.  He spoke with a local accent.
