Holiday youngsters to become “superheroes”

YOUNGSTERS will get the chance to discover skills they never knew they had at this year’s Superhero-inspired Culture Camp at Warrington’s Pyramid arts centre.
Culture Camp will take inspiration from all things Superhero.
Children, aged 7-14 years, will be invited to join Culture Camp tutors as they embark on a journey beyond the everyday.
They will be encouraged to delve into their imagination the way only children know how –  creating worlds outside the norm, exploring language through what may only be described as “gibberish” and, most importantly, discovering those all-important superpowers.
The camp consists of a range of workshops spanning craft, music, dance and drama that all interlink with a single chosen theme. The sessions ultimately equip participants with the skills to devise an original work. At the end of each week the devised piece is showcased at Pyramid, a venue that’s hosted world famous artists such as Peter Kay, Dennis Locorriere and Justin Moorhouse.
Culture Camp will run from Tuesday to Thursday for a four week period beginning on Tuesday August 4 and running through until Thursday August 27.  Each day will begin at 9.30am and finish at 4.30pm. Participants are welcome to book for the full four week run or a single week of their choice.
Derek Dick, exhibitions and services manager at Culture Warrington said:
“Culture Warrington prides itself on offering high quality artist led workshops that encourage the children to challenge, question and explore their ideas through the use of the arts, whilst also having fun! Culture Camp certainly has plenty to offer to keep children’s imagination engaged.”
