GLAZEBURY’S long history of farming will be celebrated on Saturday, July 25 with the village’s first Tractor Festival when scores of vintage tractors and other agricultural machinery will be on show.
The day will start at 10am on the car park at Bent’s Garden Centre when the tractors – ancient and modern – will be on show and there will be stalls, tractor rides and other entertainment.
Then at 4pm the tractors will drive in procession to Hawkshurst Farm, Glazebury where there will be folk music, a bar and refreshments.
The event is in aid of  All Saints’ Church, Glazebury and the Cystic Fibrosis charity.
Among those taking part in the festival will be vintage tractor restorer Eric Marshall, of Moss Side Farm, who will be showing his  1951 David Brown Cropmaster tractor.
The iconic Cropmaster, first produced in 1947, was renowned or its reliability and quality and had many extras as standards features, including a hydraulic lift and electric lighting.
