THE 5th annual Harry’s Angel Walk has been hailed a great success by Warrington based charity founder Kate Tinker.
Kate said: “The day was a great pleasure, everyone had a lovely day!”
The Angels’ Walk provides those who take part the opportunity to mix with other families who have lost infants or babies, either before during or following birth.
Kate added: “The walk allows people to share their experiences to create a network of support which is very much needed. The number of walkers grow year up on year and this year was no exception – their special 5th anniversary year when 70 walkers who took part.
“Support following the death of a baby is not always readily available, but is essential in the recovery of the individual and their family.
“Baby loss is a taboo subject and we campaign to increase awareness.”
The walk started with registration and meet up at the Maltings pub in Old Hall.  The mayor was there in his official capacity to set the event off and to offer his support.  The walkers then set off through Sankey Valley Park to their first destination, Warrington cemetery.  Here there was contemplation,
tending of graves and a balloon was released for babies at rest in the Childrens Garden.
Then it was off to the Grange Club for a rest and refreshments before heading out for the Childrens garden at Fox Covert.
Again there was a balloon release for infants resting there.  Finally the procession made its way to Walton Crematorium for the final balloon release.
Harry & Co supports Maternity and Neo natal Bereavement Services and was founded by Kate and Chris Tinker following the stillbirth of their son Harry at 41 weeks in May 2010.
