Service of remembrance at Walton Crematorium

‘COLLAPSING Foundations, Creating Bridges’ is the title of this year’s annual service of remembrance at Walton Crematorium 3pm on Sunday 21 June.

This service is a widely supported annual event in Warrington’s calendar and all residents are invited to come along.

This year, the congregation will be invited to tread over flagstones and symbolically cast their memories into rubble bins, as a symbol of the harsh removal of their life’s foundations in bereavement.

They will then be invited to share in building a bridge of hope into the future, receiving symbolic memory boxes.

The Reverend Stephen Kingsnorth, Warrington Borough Ministry, who leads the service, said: “As ever, when we meet on this occasion, we face the grim realities of our loss, not shying away from the sadness. But we also seek to move on together towards new areas of hope.”

The event will be held at Walton Lea on 21 June at 3pm.
