Dining out at The Hatton Arms

0

THEY go out of their way to be different at the Hatton Arms pub and restaurant – and it has been described as the last authentic pub in the area.
“We are individual, sometimes unusual and as far from today’s bland and identical chain pubs as it’s possible to get” says the website.
So you suspect you are in for something special when you walk through the door of the Grade 2 Listed building that has stood in the centre of Hatton village since the early 18th century.
You won’t be disappointed – whether you are just dropping in for a drink or visiting the restaurant.
We went for dinner to celebrate a special occasion and we could not have chosen a better place.
Starters include Thai fishcakes, Atlantic Smoked Salmon Benedict, Salmon Prawn and Crayfish cocktail,  Mandarin Crispy Duck and, of course, soup of the day.
Main courses include favourites such as fish and chips, grilled gammon steak and Hunters Chicken but also Pan Fried Sea Bass, Slow Roasted Lamb Shank, Barbary Duck Breast, Greek-style Vegetarian Open Lasagne and an appetising range of salads.
If it’s a grill you fancy, the Hatton offers Fillet Steak, Ribeye Steak, Sirloin Steak and  Cote de Beauf (Lollipop) – also known as ribeye on the bone.
You can view the steak on display and have it cut, weighed and cooked to your specification.
For those with a hearty appetite there is an appealing dessert menu.
All this in the wonderful atmosphere of a pub that has managed to move with the times without sacrificing anything of its intriguing history.
