Warrington’s six game unbeaten run

WARRINGTON maintained their unbeaten run in the Vivio Cheshire County League with a five wicket victory at Upton.
The home side batted first and reached a 193-7. But the target was not enough and Warrington coasted to 194-5 – their fifth win from six matches, the other one being abandoned to the weather.
They lie second in the league table with a comfortable points margin between them and the third placed team.
Warrington 2nd fared less well, however, in the return fixture at Walton Lea. Upton batted first and hit 175-6, despite Phil Whelan’s useful spell of 4-47
The home side were then bowled out for a paltry 84.
Warrington 3rd went down by five wickets against Urmston.
Batting first, Warrington were dismissed for 128, largely due to a fine 58 from Dominic Hastings. Urmston replied with 132-5 with Tom Corroboy, 2-21 the most effective Warrington bowler.
Warrington 4th reached 153-9 against Timperley, only to see their opponents reach 157-5.
A splendid century from James Lewis, 112, with good support from Tom Higham, 36, saw Warrington 5th reach 195-8  against Winnington Park.  But it was not enough, as Park reached 201-8, Mike Fagan-Hall was their most effective bowler with 3-22.
In the TACS Partnership Cheshire League, Lymm Oughtrington Park took a hammering at Ashley after dismissing the home side for a modest 133, Blair Weller taking 4-35 and Batthew Bradshaw 4-30.  The home side then bowled them out for 50 – and the total would have been much, much worse but for 26 from Paul Tong.
However, the Lymm 2nd string defeated Ashley at Oughtrington Lane. They bowled them out for 133, Graham Walmsley taking 3-28, Tony Spaven 3-24 and Robert Hutton 3-50 before replying with 140-2, Asim Shah hammering and unbeaten 99.
In the Cheshire Alliance,  Glazebury travelled to Pott Shrigley and dismissed the home side for 52, Sam Stanier taking 5-19 and David Nicholson 3-3. Glazebury had little trouble in reaching 56-4, Ian Black hitting 18 and Scott Sparks 20 not out.
Stretton won the toss and inserted Westminster Park who subsided to 70 all out. Stretton lost only three wickets in reaching their target.
Stretton 2nd hit 215-5 at home against Frodsham, Andy Taylor hitting 61. Frodsham were dismissed for 117
Rylands strolled to an eight wicket win over Knutsford, who were bowled out for 111 and then saw Rylands hit 115-2
The Rylands second string travelled to Saughall won the toss, batted first and were dismissed for 84. But the home side struggled from the outset and were back in the pavilion for 81.
