A NUMBER of buildings in Warrington have scooped awards in the building industry “oscars”.
They triumphed in the North West Region Building Excellent awards – which are recognised as prestigious plaudits throughout the construction industry.
Warrington had a regional winner and two buildings were highly commended.
*Belong Care Home in Latchford, built by Cruden Construction, scooped first prize for Best Inclusive Building.
*Golden Gates Housing Trust’s Bank Park House was also highly commended in the Best Commercial Development category and a property in Lymm was highly commended for Best Extension.
Cllr Terry O’Neill, leader of the borough council, said: “I’m delighted properties in Warrington have triumphed. The awards recognise technical innovation, sustainability and high performance, everything from new schools to kitchen extensions can be nominated so it really varies. Well done to all.”
The regional winner, Belong Care Home will now compete in the grand final which will be held in London later in the year.

  1. Building industry ‘Oscars’ “which are recognised as prestigious plaudits throughout the construction industry”.

Developers giving themselves awards for knocking up tin-pot tack lol !

The Golden Gates ‘flagship offices’ should never have been allowed to be built in the setting of the Town Hall Ugly tasteless tack and complete waste of money which would have been better spent providing housing for the homeless.

  2. That building is about as ‘creative’ as giving a three year old a cardboard box to make a house and getting them to cut holes in it for windows! A truly boring design and a depressing place for people in care. Just hope the landscape gardeners have some imagination to brighten the place up.
